Why Music?
Music has always been a part of me. Apart from having a history of musical artists in the family, i just love expressing myself on stage with my songs and my performances. music gives me life and gets my mind off the worries and struggles in the world.
At what point did you decide to go into music?
Ever since i was a little kid, i had always wanted to be a musical artist and also an actor but my first performance on stage was a gospel show which was organized by the teen church of House on the Rock in 1997. i was in a group then but we broke up as we all had to go to the university. i got into a gospel dance group called The Spirit of David while i was in The Polytechnic Ibadan but left to go get my B.Sc from BOWEN UNIVERSITY , IWO- OSUN STATE. i got into a rap group called TPKAL and music started off there. After school, i went solo (i was actually the only one in the group that continued with music).
How supportive are your parent toward your music career?
My parents gave me all the support as soon as they saw that there was no changing my mind about music. my dad (R.I.P) gave me money to record my very first song in a studio called (SCAM ALERT) and my mom is a constant promoter of my music. it makes her proud anytime she sees my videos or interviews on T.V. I can only say God Bless them for their support.
What kind of music do you do?
i do a fusion of AFROBEAT AND POP MUSIC
What inspire you?
Funny enough, my inspiration comes from the everyday lives of people on the streets, the hustle and bustle of the average human being and poverty and suffering that we see every day. i just want to change the world and make it better so i sing about the world.
Bold Step?
ONE MAJOR BOLD STEP WAS TO TURN DOWN AN OFFER TO WORK WITH A REPUTABLE COMPANY WITH A GREAT SALARY JUST BECAUSE I WANTED TO DO MUSIC. I TURNED THEM DOWN TO GO WORK AT SILVERBIRDS RHYTHM 93.7FM JUST SO I COULD BE CLOSER TO THE MUSIC.

Who and what are the major influences on your career?
MY LATE DAD AND GRAND MOTHER WERE MY MAJOR INFLUENCES ON MY CAREER BUT NOW THAT THEY ARE LATE, I AM GREAT INFLUENCED BY THE EVERYDAY LIFE OF YOUTHS SUFFERING ON THE STREETS, BEGGARS, ORPHANS BECAUSE I REALLY WANT TO HELP.

You feature Olamide in your bad guy single. What is it like working with Olamide?
OLAMIDE IS A VERY ENERGETIC ARTIST AND A VERY GOOD FRIEND OF MINE. YOU CANT DO A SONG WITH OLAMIDE A GO WRONG. HE IS HUMBLE A QUITE FRIENDLY TO EVERYONE. WE JUST HAD FUN IN THE STUDIO. OLAMIDE, MY YOUNGER BROTHER (JUNGLEBOI) AND I. WE JUST HAD MADT FUN.
What inspire you to release' My place of birth' single?
MY PLACE OF BIRTH SPEAKS ABOUT THE EVERYDAY HUSSTLE IN LIFE. THE SONG IS DEDICATED TO MY LATE DAD AND GRAND-MOTHER WHO DIED IN 2013. IT WAS PRODUCED BY MORRISON.
MY GRAND MOTHER HAD AN ORPHANAGE WHERE BABIES THAT WHERE FOUND ABOANDONED ON THE STREETS WERE BROUGHT AND SHE WOULD TAKE CARE OF THESE BABIES AND THROUGH THE GOVERNMENT GET FOSTER PARENTS FOR THEM. SHE DID THIS TILL SHE PASSED AWAY. MY DAD WAS A CIVIL SERVANT BUT AFTER HE RETIRED, THERE WAS DELAY IN HIS PENSION FUND GETTING TO HIM AND ALL THAT STRUGGLE. IT REALLY HURT ME WHEN HE DIED BECAUSE I BELIEVE HE SHOULD HAVE LIVE A WONDERFUL LIFE AS HE WAS GROWING OLD. I GOT DEVASTATED WHEN THEY BOTH PASSED AWAY AND JUST WENT INTO THE STUDIO TO POUR OUT MY RAGE. THAT WAS HOW THE SONG CAME TO BE.
Are you signed under any record label now?
Not yet, still praying and working hard but i have my own organization called "CHAKAM MEDIA". Man gats survive you know. WATSHHH!!!

Now let's look into the insecurity in the country.. Especially the
kidnapping of over 200 chibok school girls.. What is your opinion?
Only God can save us here in Nigeria. Those girls have been gone for a long time and all the international aides have come to do their bit but still no girls. i just wonder, with all the hypnotism and brainwashing, will the girls want to leave their new environment? don’t you think they would be like a family now? I’m just saying... but i honestly pray to God that we can get them back..
How can we put an end to this menace?
Blow up the whole SAMBISA FOREST. FULL AIR STRIKE. CHAKAM
Do you support negotiation with the boko haram sect?
(fa fa faaaa, fowl) No i don’t. Why negotiate with terrorists that have killed and displaced over a thousand people.
What roles do you think Artistes can play toward the issue of insecurity and kidnapping in the country?
Music is a very strong way of getting across to people so one thing i think is to compose conscious music which would enlighten the people and at the same time make our leaders know that we have a voice and we will speak out if they are nonchalant about our security.

What is your opinion toward the 50million Naira tagged by the Nigerian Police Force for whoever gives them relevant information on how to bring back the abducted girls?
i am not in the right place to discuss their plans on how they want to rescue the Chibok girls but 50 million? And some people don’t have food to eat daily. Hmmmm!!

Advice to upcoming artistes?
Keep doing what you do and have it in mind that hard work pays, As long as you persevere and stay focused, committed and dedicated to whatever you do, success is too sure.
EVERYTHING GO SET ONEDAY. #CHAKAM
Last word for your fans?
LEAVE WHEN THE OVATION IS LOUDEST AND CHOOSE TODAY WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO BECOME TOMORROW AND PRACTICE FOR IT NOW. And another thing....#WATSHHH-PROPERLY AND CHAKAM!!!
